Enjoy a summer evening watching an Iowa Cubs baseball game at Principal Park in Des Moines!
- Travel to Principal Park for a night with the I-Cubs.

NEW! August 2 – 4, 2012 (Thurs. – Sat.) Discover the Wonders of the House on the Rock
This three day, two night motorcoach trip includes:
- The Little Church in the Vale – one of the smallest churches in the world
- Bily Clocks – a collection of hand carved clocks housed in the former residence of renowned Czech composer Antonin Dvorak
- The Heritage Farm, the Seed Savers and 890-acre living museum – enjoy an interpretative trail winding through vegetable and flower gardens, an heirloom orchard, a restored prairie and herds of ancient white park cattle
- Burr Oak – visit the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of The Little House on the Prairie series

NEW! October 1-3, 2012 (Mon. – Wed.) Fall Fun on Minnesota’s Great River Road, $379/person*
On this trip we will travel with another group from an Ankeny financial institution and head north to enjoy the fabulous fall colors along Mid America’s first Scenic Byway. We will take a St. Croix River lunch cruise, tour and shop in historic Stillwater, tour the Cathedral of St. Paul, James J. Hill House and driving tour of Summit Ave. and the magnificent homes along America’s finest boulevard. We will also tour the Red Wing shoe factory, Red Wing pottery factory and LARK Toy Company (one of America’s largest independent toy stores), and see a live Eagle demonstration at the National Eagle Center. NEW! October 16, 2012 (Tues.) Murder Mystery at Iowa’s Grand Hotel, $90/person
Travel to Hotel Pattee in Perry, Iowa for a guided tour of the themed bedrooms in this grand hotel decorated in the Arts & Crafts style of the early 20th century. The hotel features original paintings and sculptures of Iowa artists. Enjoy a three course plated lunch served in the magnificent dining room, which includes roasted loin of pork -OR- stuffed breast of chicken (please indicate meat selection upon registration), house salad, garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, rolls, and chocolate lava cake topped with cherries, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. During lunch, a Murder Mystery play unfolds with high level of fun and audience participation. On the trip home, we’ll stop in Jefferson, Iowa for a one-hour presentation of 1875 furniture making by a costumed interpreter using 100% hand tools. (30 passengers needed)

- Golden Opportunity luncheon and travel information is published each month in C1st Connection, the credit union's quarterly newsletter. If you do not receive the newsletter you can find it on our website under Press Releases. We have a separate montly newsletter just for Golden Opportunity information, if you would like to receive by mail please contact Dana Brown, Club Coordinator, or click on the newsletter link at the top of the page.
Travel
- Golden Opportunity members receive great group rates on trips and tours offered throughout the year. Numerous day trips are planned along with domestic and international travel. We encourage everyone interested to give us a try - you won't be disappointed!
Monthly Meetings
- Everyone is welcome at Sirloin Stockade in Ottumwa every second Wednesday of the month (except December) Join us for lunch after 11:15 and enjoy a special program at 12:30, with door prizes directly following. This is a great opportunity to meet other travelers and hear about upcoming events.
Special Savings Account
- If you are over 55 why not put your money in a Golden Opportunity Savings Account? Earn a higher interest rate for any amount over $1000, no max. If the amount falls below $1,000 there is a $15.00 fee, charged every quarter. The fee is based on a daily minimum balance requirement, so if it goes below $1,000 even once you will incur the fee. Benefits with your new savings include free checks and a higher interest rate.
