Community 1st Credit Union garnered its second Des Moines Register “Top Workplace” award and moved up more than 10 places in the process. The newspaper recognized 150 Iowa companies and organizations for the 2017 honor.
The Ottumwa-based credit union with 240 employees and 17 branches was 38th on the list of midsized company employers. C1st was a newcomer for the designation last year.
The employer honor is based on results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a research firm specializing in organizational health and workplace environment.
“For the second year in a row, we are delighted to be named a Top Workplace in Iowa,” said C1st President and CEO Greg Hanshaw. “Moving up a few spots in the ranking is an additional honor. The results of the employee survey show we have something special happening here. I’m proud to be part of our enthusiastic team!”
Several aspects of workplace culture were measured including alignment, execution, and connection. WorkplaceDynamics first published the list in 2006.
“The most successful companies are the ones that employees believe in,” reads a quote from the WorkplaceDynamics website.
