Community 1st Credit Union Welcomes Two Ottumwa Leaders to Its Board of Directors

Community 1st Credit Union is honored to announce the appointment of Curt Hopkins and Brian McWilliams to its Board of Directors. Both leaders bring a strong commitment to community service, local economic growth, and the values that define the credit union movement.
“We are very pleased to welcome Curt and Brian to our Board of Directors,” said Greg Hanshaw, President & CEO of Community 1st Credit Union. “Their leadership experience, community connections, and passion for service align perfectly with our mission of improving the financial well-being of our members and strengthening the communities we serve.”
Brian McWilliams, President of McCune and Reed Insurance, brings a strong background in business management and community development. He has been a valued C1st member since 2014. Brian is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University and serves as an Executive Board Member for the Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation, helping advance key community initiatives. McWilliams resides in Ottumwa with his wife and their two children.
“I am honored to join the C1st Board of Directors,” said McWilliams. “I look forward to supporting the credit union’s mission to strengthen our members’ financial well-being and contribute to the continued growth of our communities.”
Curt Hopkins, a longtime C1st member since 1990, was nominated to fill the board position previously held by the late D. David Boyer. Hopkins is a respected local business leader as the owner of Hopkins Properties, LLC and Pizza Ranch. A graduate of Indian Hills Community College, Curt is deeply invested in Ottumwa’s growth and the success of its residents. Hopkins resides in Albia with his wife and their four children.

As members of the Board of Directors, Hopkins and McWilliams will help shape the strategic direction of C1st, ensuring that the credit union continues to deliver exceptional service, foster financial well-being, and strengthen the communities it serves.
