Community 1st Credit Union has established a scholarship program to assist active members who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. 

C1st Scholarship Applications are OPEN!

Applications for our 2023 C1st Scholarships are open and will be accepted through February 15, 2023 at 3:00 PM CST.   This year, Community 1st Credit Union will be giving away a total of $50,000 in Scholarship Awards!  If you are a C1st member that is a senior in high school, or a non-traditional student returning to college - don't miss out!

Eligibility requirements:

  • Current, active members of Community 1st Credit Union
  • High school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited two-or-four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire academic year

OR

  • Non-traditional* student enrolling for the first time or returning to complete an interrupted degree as a part-time or full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-or-four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire academic year
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)

Children of employees are eligible to apply and must meet the above eligibility requirements.

*Non-traditional students are defined as students who do not attend college immediately after high school graduation.

The 2023 Iowa Financial Know-How Challenge: Senior Scholarship awards a $1,000 college scholarship to 50 Iowa high school students. Participants experience two online tools to help them understand ways to reduce borrowing to pay for college and receive emailed tips on planning and paying for college.
